LYONS: Formerly of Newark, LaVell L. Alvaro, age 93 entered eternal rest on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. LaVell was born the daughter of the late Archie and Nora (Seay) Crawford on Saturday, March 8, 1924 in Plato, Missouri. She was a graduate of Plato High School class of 1941. LaVell and her late husband owned and operated the Old World Inn Restaurant and Motel on South Main Street in Newark for many years. LaVell will be remembered by her daughters, Angela (Martie) Gedney and Lisa (David) Healy; sons, Nicholas Alvaro and Michael (Rhonda) Alvaro; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. LaVell was predeceased by husband of 30 years James J. Alvaro Sr; son James J. Alvaro Jr.; four sisters and three brothers.
Family will greet friends for calling hours Thursday (June 1) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Norman L Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark. A Private Graveside Service will take place in Newark Cemetery, North Main St, Newark.
