HAMBURG/LYONS: Age 66, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2019, at Buffalo General Medical Hospital following a brief illness. Steven was born in Penn Yan, NY on January 15, 1953 and spent his early years in Dundee, moving to Lyons with his family at the age of 12. Steven was a 1971 graduate of Lyons Central High School, and obtained a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He lived and worked in Rochester, and then near Buffalo, living in Blaisdell and then in Hamburg. Steve was an avid model builder and a regular at slot car racing, where he enjoyed the fellowship of other racing hobbyists. He was predeceased by his father, Lyle Barnes in 1991. Steven is survived by his mother, Eunice Barnes, of Lyons; his sisters, Patricia Shaad, of Geneva, Switzerland, and Debra Barnes Breitenbach; brother-in-law Thomas Breitenbach, of Altamont, NY, nephew Travis, niece Tuesday, and a grandniece. WOLCOTT: Age 93, passed away peacefully on December 20th, 2019 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter; siblings, Carol Demarest and Bruce Demarest. Lorraine is survived by her children, Kenneth (Kim) Dobbin and Sandra (Randy Mcafee) Hill all of Wolcott; grandchildren, Sean Dobbin, Angelique Van Deusen, Brady (Marisa) Dobbin, Rachel (Zack) Rivera, Joshua (Leah) Dobbin, Edward Van Deusen and Kristopher (Desiree) Van Deusen; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. After early employment as a telephone operator in Newark and a teller at Red Creek National Bank, Lorraine helped her husband Walter start an insurance agency in a converted bedroom on Waters Rd, in Red Creek.  Dobbin Agency is still a thriving business in Wolcott, NY thanks to Lorraine’s administrative talents over many years. A Memorial Service will be held in the spring. WILLIAMSON: Entered into rest on December 19, 2019 at age 70. Predeceased by her husband: Gerald Willard. Marge was a strong and independent woman.  She especially loved to crochet. Her talented work could be seen in baby blankets, lap blankets for veterans and other items for anyone and everyone that was in need of something. LOCK BERLIN/LYONS: Bessie Lee (Miller) Husner, on 23 December 2019 at Wayne County Nursing Home, has gone to join those that she loved and missed, that are now with her savior. We know she is smiling and watching over those who are left behind. Friends may call Friday December 27 from 4 to 7pm at the Boeheim-Pusateri Funeral Home, 77 William St, Lyons. Funeral service will be held Saturday December 28th at 11am at the funeral home with burial at South Lyons Cemetery, Lyons, NY. She was born 10 April 1929, Stover, Trap Hill, WV to Burrell John Miller and Anna Laura (Rorrer) Miller, Stover, WV. She was an avid bowler who is now bowling with her mates in heaven and opening tickets at Heaven’s VFW.  She enjoyed playing Eucher with her in-laws on Saturday and having the annual birthday celebration in April in Lock Berlin. If you showed up on a Sunday, there was always enough to feed all who came to her home in Lock Berlin. Her passions in life were her children, nieces and nephews. With 16 brothers and sisters and 13 brother and sister in laws,  there were a lot of them and each was loved and remembered on every birthday, Christmas and marriage. Her flower and vegetable gardens were the talk of the town, she would spend hours canning the fruits of her labors from the garden. If a person was in need, of anything, she would do without to provide for them. Her smile and warm heart will be sorely missed. She was employed by Hickock Mfg, then later at Jackson & Perkins, finally retiring from Garlock MFG of Palmyra, NY. She was a life member of VFW Post 5092 Women’s Auxiliary & American Legion Post 227 both of Lyons NY, and most recently Newark American Legion Auxiliary.  She is survived by her son John Earl (Carol) Husner of Aurora, Colorado; daughter Judith Marie (Robert) Harford of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren Doreen Husner, David Harford, and Paul Harford; great grandchildren McKenna, Maci, Joren, Jaden & Jensen and 1 great-great grandson Bodhi Xen Tomas; brother in law Harry “Jug” (Betty) Husner of Sodus;  sister in law Betty Moody of Spring Lake, North Carolina; many, many nieces and nephews around the country whom she loved as an Aunt only could. Mundy, Theodore “Ted” Mark

LYONS: It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Theodore “Ted” Mark Mundy at the Wayne County Nursing Home on Monday December 23, 2019. He was born on June 29, 1951 in Lyons, NY and is predeceased by his parents Elwood and Helen Mundy. Ted is survived by his best friend and devoted wife Pamela Parton Mundy, his loving daughter Caitlin Mundy Bombard, grandchildren Senett and Paxton, loving stepdaughters Jennifer (Mike) Jackson, and Lindsey Roberts, brother Gerald Mundy, nephew Mark (Tammy) Mundy and family, and many other special friends and relatives. Ted spent his years dedicated to his family and was a very selfless and caring man. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of crossing his path. The family expresses their sincere thanks to the Wayne County Nursing Home staff for providing a comforting home to Ted during the eight years he was a resident there. Many of you were a special part of his life, and we can’t say thank you enough for the compassion and care he received. Also, thank you to the Lifetime Hospice Care staff for comforting Ted during the last few weeks of his life. At the family’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral. A celebration of Ted’s life will be held on Saturday January 18, 2020 at the Wolcott Elks Lodge from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm. PALMYRA: Florence passed away on December 23, 2019 at age 97. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Grape, Sr.; son, Roger; stepson, Raymond Grape, Jr.; sisters, Evelyn, Alice and Elsie. Florence is survived by her children, Madelyn (Howard) Rohrer, Elaine (David) Krembel and Leonard Grape; grandchildren, Victoria (Michael) Ingalls, Rance (Pearl) Grape, Wendy Frost, Robayn (George) Perrin and Jessica (Adam) Whyte; 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Gerald (Judy) Gossley. Florence retired from Rochester Products after working there for over 35 years.  She was a hard worker, a devoted mother and grandmother.  Florence will be dearly missed. PORT GIBSON: Age 59, went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2019. Raised in Shortsville, NY, he graduated from Red Jacket Central High School, Class of 1980, and served in the US Air Force. He was active in the Chapin United Methodist Church, the Calvary Chapel, Veterans Affairs Day Treatment Center and Disabled American Veterans organizations. Bob will be remembered for his jovial and gentle ways. He was the widower of Susan (Genazzio) Crouse. They shared many years of marriage together. He is survived by his brothers Douglas (Sue Ashley), Jerome (Pat Breason), James (Donna), David, Michael, and his sister Sharon (Mark) Bowman. He is predeceased by his wife Susan, his parents Joseph and Ruth Crouse, and brother Steve. A memorial service with military honors will be held on January 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapin United Methodist Church, Route 21 North, Canandaigua. WOLCOTT: Dorothy, 99, passed away peacefully on December 24. Predeceased by her husband, Clifford Lippert; Brothers Milo and Glenn Resue, and Clarence “Bill” Karney; and her daughter, Virginia (John) Roome. Dorothy is survived by her son, Robert (Pat) Lippert; Grandchildren Kimberly (Daniel) Mettler, Jennifer (Ahmet) Tavacioglu, Alicia (Chris) Holdridge, and Justin Roome. Great-grandchildren Jeremy, Cody, and Dawson Mettler; Burak (Zuleyha), Amine, and Ali Tavacioglu; Daniel, Zachary, Benjamin, and Seth Holdridge. Great-great-grandchild Yasemin Tavacioglu. Dorothy was born June 4, 1920 in Rose, NY to parents Isaac Resue and Cynthia Fisher. Dorothy’s mother died when she was an infant and she was raised by Clarence and Anna Karney. Dorothy graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1937 and Auburn Business School in 1938. Dorothy and Clifford married in 1941 and they were together for 44 years. Dorothy worked in an attorney’s office and insurance offices (Olmsted, Wheeler, Graves, and Katz ) for over 50 years. She volunteered at the Wolcott Library and delivered Home Meals for 10 years. Dorothy joined Rose Methodist Church in 1932 and then was a lifelong member of Faith United Methodist Church and held several offices there. She was a member of Draper Chapter #151, O. E. S. since 1960 where she held several offices, including Matron, and was appointed District Deputy Grand Matron of Wayne District in 1990. Dorothy was a member of Leavenworth Alumni Association, Wayne District Past Matrons & Grands Associations, “Forever Young” Senior Citizens and “South Butler Golden Friends” Senior Citizens. Dorothy loved her family well with many delicious home-cooked holiday meals. Her canned peaches, famous jello dishes, molasses cookies, and Christmas roast beef can never be outdone. She was an avid crocheter and made countless other projects and crafts for various events. Dorothy was an all around creative, industrious, and generous woman. She will be remembered for her life-long faith in Christ, her gentle spirit, and her deep love and affection for her family. We love you mom, grandma, great-grandma,and great-great-grandma! PALMYRA: Age 27, passed peacefully at her Palmyra home into the arms of our Lord on Saturday, December 28, 2019. She was born on June 10, 1992 in Rochester, NY, the greatly loved and treasured daughter of Joseph and Jeanne Mallia. Sarah is survived by her parents; adoring older brother William; sister-in-law Gloria “Coan” Mallia; and little buddy nephew Dominic.  She is the granddaughter of Catherine Rizzo of Lafayette, NY and the granddaughter of Pauline Stukus of Syracuse, NY. Sarah is also survived by her loving aunts and uncles, Mark and Marie Frost, Bill and Anne Emm, Chris and Susan Stukus, Paul and Natalie Stukus, and Robert and Joan Littlehale. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather Peter Stukus, paternal grandfather Joseph Rizzo and uncle Victor Mallia. Sarah will be sadly missed by her cousins Kathleen (Derek) Combs, Patrick (Freya) Frost, Daniel Frost, Melissa (Seth) Appleman, John Emm, Megan Stukus, Madeleine Stukus, Cole Stukus, and Claire Stukus; as well as many second cousins and several great aunts and uncles.  Sarah possessed a magic of charming all who met her and leaves behind so many friends and angels here on earth who made her life so very happy and fulfilling. Hooley, Paul K.

ROCHESTER: December 27, 2019- Passed suddenly into eternal rest at the age of 71. Beloved father of Rebecca (Jeremy) Block and dearest grandfather of Samuel, Kaleigh and Nicholas. Survived by his brother, Dan (Margaret) Hooley, his sister, Colleen (Don) Dee, his sister-in-law, Anna Marie Hooley, along with several nieces and nephews. Paul grew up in Buffalo, NY and graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1966 after which he enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served aboard the USS Enterprise during the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge from military service he went on to work for Trico Products Corporation, the company which discovered the windshield wiper in 1917, until it ultimately shut down its Buffalo operations in 2002, after working for the company a total of 31 years. Eventually he retired in Canandaigua, NY to live closer to his daughter, son-in-law and his grandchildren, and was a loving father and a doting grandfather who always put everyone else first before himself. Paul loved golf, washing and waxing his cars until they shined like a new penny, caring for his yard (and driveway) and watching all sports. He was a devoted Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan, in good times and in bad. WILLIAMSON/NEWARK: Passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the DeMay Living Center in Newark, NY.  Charles was born in the State of Connecticut on Saturday, July 24, 1937 to the late Rose and Charles Comaitos.  He was also predeceased by his sisters and stepdaughters Patti Garfield and Theresa Vega.  Charles is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ellen P. “Lake” Comaitos; children, Clyde, Charlene, Matthew and Deedra; stepchildren, Diane, John and Mary; grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Charles and Ellen had retired and lived for many years in Pittsboro, North Carolina before returning back to Williamson and most recently, Newark. NORTH ROSE: Age 81,  passed away Sunday,  December 29, 2019 at her home. Born in Lyons, daughter of the late Paul Drury and Inez Furman Drury. Prior to retirement she was employed as a nurse at various places in Wayne County. She enjoyed travelling, reading, flowers, gardening, baking, friends and family at the family cottage on Sodus Point. She was a member of the Rose Historical Society, and the Rose Public Health Committee, as well as a girl scout leader. She is predeceased by her husband, Wayne Poole, and grandson Alex Acker. Survived by daughter, Susan (Clint) Acker of North Rose, son, Dale (Laurie) DeVay of Marion, granddaughter, Samantha Acker, great granddaughter, Isabell Morse, step grandchildren, Dwayne Morse, Derek Morse, Dominick Morse, Wendy Morse, and nieces and nephews. DeBrine, Curtis Cook

MT. STERLING, KENTUCKY: Curtis Cook DeBrine, 76, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Monday evening, December 30, 2019 at Thomson-Hood Veteran Hospital in Wilmore, Kentucky. He was born in Sodus, New York, on August 26, 1943 to the late Lloyd Van and Ruth Cook DeBrine. Curtis became a member of First Christian Church in Mt. Sterling upon moving to the area five years ago from Williamson, New York. He was a United States Army Veteran, retired from the Eastman Kodak Company and dedicated his life to helping others, especially children.   While living in Williamson, Curtis served as both an Elder and a Deacon of Williamson Presbyterian Church as well as a youth group leader for twenty-seven years. He enjoyed coaching youth softball, basketball, and tutoring reading students. Along with his wife Joann, they served as advisors for A.F.S. (American Field Service) an international program dedicated to placing both foreign and domestic exchange students with “host families”.   Curtis lived a full life and his friends, family, and communities will miss him dearly. He is survived by his loving wife, Joann DeBrine of Mt. Sterling; daughter, Deanna Mascle (Tod) of Mt. Sterling; son, Jeremy DeBrine (Christine) of Lake Oswego, Oregon sister, Bonnie DeHollander (Duane) of Webster, New York; and three grandchildren, Noah Mascle of Mt. Sterling and Abigail DeBrine and Owen DeBrine, both of Lake Oswego, Oregon. Visitation will from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday,  Jan. 4, at First Christian Church of Mt. Sterling with a service immediately following at 2 p.m. The Revs. Scott Holley and Michelle Ballard officiating.
