NEWARK/FAIRVILLE: Ronald Blaisdell died on November 4, 2018, peacefully in his home with his loved one’s by his side. Ronald was predeceased by his parents, Sylvester and Gertrude Blaisdell, and daughter Rhonda. He is survived by his wife Claire (Lyn), daughter Melinda, son Ronald (RB). Grandchildren, Ryan and Courtney; great- grandson Jayson, and special brother and sister in law, Chuck and Rose Frye of Lake Worth, Florida. Ronald was a machine operator at Mobil Chemical, for 25 years, and a bartender at the original Red Rooster, in Fairville. He was a past fireman and EMT in Fairville, for many years. He also coached PAL Little League baseball. He was an auxiliary Police Officer at the Watkins Glen Race Track, an avid golfer, bowler, and hunter. He enjoyed many years of motorcycling, and snowmobiling, in his later years enjoyed horse racing, and card playin . The genuine highlights in his life were his grandchildren, including his four legged ones. ONTARIO: It is with great sadness that the family of Zachary Thomas Ake announce his unexpected passing on Thursday November 1st, 2018. Zachary was born on Wednesday, October 19,1988 to loving parents Kenny and Laurie. He is survived by his 10 year old son Jaidyn Patrick; his mother Laurie Ake; his siblings Chad (Meghan), Courtney, Kendra and Brandon Ake; his grandmother Sharon Whitcomb; several Aunts, Uncle’s and cousins. He is predeceased by his Father, Kenny Ake; Grandparents Ronald and Andrea Ake and his Uncle Kevin Whitcomb. Zachary always had the love and support of his family. He loved unconditionally and his greatest joy was his son.

MACEDON: Passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the age of 90.  Gene was born on February 9, 1928 to the late Robert J. and Grace “Brasser” Brown.  He was predeceased by his wife Virginia “Ginny’ Brown; son-in-law Lawrence “Larry” Packard; sister Carolyn “Sis” McPhee and brother William “Bruce” Brown. Gene is survived by his daughter Donna Packard; grandson, Tom Packard; granddaughter Sarah (JR) Flight; great-grandson Dylan Flight; brother, Howard (Anita) Brown; sister-in-law Eleanor “Ellie” Martz and brother-in-law Norman Hoyt; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.Gene was a graduate of East Rochester High School. He served his country through the United States Army from 1951-1953 and then as a reservist until 1956. Gene was retired from the Eastman Kodak Company. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Macedon Center Fire Department.

Bill was born April 20, 1936 in Cato, a son to the late Burdette and Gladys Forbes Jones.  He was a truck driver for Agway in Weedsport and later drove for Swift Trucking in Auburn, retiring in 1999. Predeceased by his son, William Mark Jones and brother, Carl Jones.  He is survived by his companion, Shirley Cooney of Lyons; 5 children, Colleen Jones, Lance Jones, Todd Jones, Donna Sullivan and Erik Jones;  3 step-children, William Cooney, Lori Cannan and Diane Devlin; 14 grandchildren,  10 great-grandchildren; 3 siblings, Patricia Anderson, Betty Smith and Kay Doty; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. LYONS: Randy Lee Snyder, 55 entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at his resident after a brief illness with his family by his side. Randy was born the son of the late Albert and Betsy (Potter) Snyder on Monday, May 6, 1963 Tioga, PA. He attended North Rose-Wolcott High School. For many years he worked at Merrell Famers as a laborer. Randy was always the life of the party and he had a great love for family. He spent many hours playing his radio and playing his music. Randy always rooted for his favorite football team the Miami Dolphins. Randy will be always be remembered by his daughter, Destiny Snyder; wife, Teresa Snyder; step daughters, Jessica Ortiz and Samantha Durgan; he left behind many brothers and sisters; mother of his daughter Michelle Stephany-Swail; step-daughters, Tara Swail and Candace Matthews; many grandchildren. 

Family will greet friends on Thursday (Nov. 15) from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Norman L Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W Miller St, Newark. A graveside service will be Friday (Nov 16) at 10 a.m. in North Rose Cemetery.

NEWARK: Linda D VanCleef, age 75 entered eternal rest on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Clifton Springs Nursing Home. Linda was born the daughter of the late Andrew and Cora (Niles) DeWolf on Tuesday, January 19, 1943 in Syracuse, NY. She spent her life in the Newark area growing up on Vienna Street and graduating from Newark High School class of 1961. Linda worked for Newark Developmental Center followed by Garlock Corp. in Palmyra where she retired. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for Newark VFW War Dads and the Newark American Legion. For many years she was a Den Mother of the Cub Scouts and volunteered at the Bickford House for Veterans. Linda was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Newark. She enjoyed playing cards and reading. Linda will be remembered by her sons, Carl (Ulrike) VanCleef of Germany and Robert (Sherrie) VanCleef of Geneva; grandchildren, Jessica (Ryan) Downey, Jason VanCleef, Derek VanCleef, Kurtis Freeman and Devin VanCleef; five great grandchildren; several, nieces and nephews. Linda was predeceased by husband, Gail VanCleef; sister Sharon (Murphy) William.

Family will greet friends on Friday (Nov. 16) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark.  A burial will follow in East Newark Cemetery.

LYONS/CLYDE: Age 81, left this earth on Sunday, November 11, 2018 on a phantom motorcycle, to ride under blue skies with the wind in his face and sun at his back. Raymond was born September 13, 1937 in Lyons, a son to Carl J. and Myrtle Colegrove Anstee.  He was a veteran of the Army in the 101st Airborne, Fort Campbell, KY in 1956 and 1957. Ray owned County Road Motorcycle Shop in Galen, then moved to Arkansas in 1976 where he was a carpenter and a mason. He was a member of the Eureka Grange # 46, Galen Historical Society and Lyons Heritage Society. Predeceased by his wife, Grace in 2003 and brother, Eugene Anstee. He is survived by his very special lady, Mama Carol S. Bailey of Lyons; 5 children, Raymond, Jr. (Shannon) of AR, Carol Anstee of TX, Ruth (Michael) Strauss of UT, John (Missy) of AR; and Susie (Randy) Fuller of LA; 7 grandchildren, Arlie, Shae, Jake, Garrett, Joseph, Taylor (Jack), and Rachael; 2 great-grandchildren, Maddy and Darbi; brother, Kenneth (Tillie) Anstee; nieces; nephews; Carol’s family; and his dog, Daisey.

LYONS: Age 45, of Maple St., died on Monday November 12,2018. Heather was born in Sodus, on December 28, 1972, daughter of Charles & Charlene( Sipple) Stauch. She had worked at School Specialties in Lyons. She liked gambling, loved animals, loved to travel, favorite place was Disneyland, in Florida. Survived by her husband of 21 Yrs., Jason DeVito, son Justin Griffin, mother Charlene Stauch, of Lyons, mother & father-in-law, Rose Ann & Louis Salerno, of Waterloo, brother-in-law, Larry Wadsworth Jr. of Clyde, sister-in-law, Crystal Salerno, brother & sister-in-law, Louis & Ashley Salerno, also survied by extended aunts & uncles, 2 special people Vaudeen Cagnina, & Stacy Salerno, several nieces & nephews. PALMYRA: Rose passed away on November 8, 2018 at age 83. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, William DeVito; daughter, Charlene (Polito) and Timothy Mottler; son, Charles (Alexandria) Polito; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many brothers and sisters in-law; many nieces, nephews and loving friends.  Rose lived a happy and full life with much dedication to her family. She spent her career in banking at Marine Midland. When she retired, she turned her dedication to her family.  She loved and cared for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. PALMETTO, FL.: Age 89,  passed away suddenly on November 5, 2018. Born July 31, 1929 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, Charlie (Lee) proudly served the US Coast Guard in addition to earning his Bachelor’s Degree at Mansfield State Teachers College. He taught science to middle schoolers until his retirement from Palmyra-Macedon School District in Palmyra, NY at the early age of 55. After which he spent over 30 glorious years traveling the US and Canada, dividing his time between his homes in New York and Florida and engaging in the activities he loved most: visiting with family and friends, hunting and fishing. Known for his kind smile and ability to find the bright spots in life, he will be greatly missed and is still fiercely loved by the many friends and family members who leaned on him for steady support and good humor. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Seeleman (Steve); two granddaughters, Elysia Brenner and Ashley Seeleman; sister, Jane Hanson (Norbert); brother Ken Matchett; sister-in-law, Martha Sellers;  long-time friend, Elizabeth Houppert; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Billye Ann Tanner Matchett.  Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial service on Saturday, November 17th at 11 AM in Memorial Shrine Park Chapel, 1831 W. 8th St., Wyoming, PA 18644. ONTARIO: After a valiant battle with cancer, Gail passed away on November 11, 2018 at age 55.  She is survived by her parents, Bill and Natalie Slocum; brother, Bill “JR.” (Patty) Slocum; sister, Karin (Mike) Montgomery; niece, Allie; nephews, Austin “AJ” and Travis “Tee”; aunts, uncles and friends. Gail enjoyed traveling and was able to see almost all of the 50 states at one time or another in her life. Her favorite trips included visits to Amish Country and winter break in Florida along with an occasional Yankee baseball game with her brother to keep his spirits up during his own health problems. Her summers were spent at the family cottage at Port Bay when not camping with her sister and family at Southwoods. Her devotion to others was evident not only at work but at any event her nephews and niece may be involved in. She was their biggest supporter and cheerleader. FLORIDA/MACEDON: Passed away on August 2, 2018 surrounded by her family. Nancy was born November 20, 1931 to the late Edgar Pruyn and Vivian Schnetzer. She was predeceased by her siblings; John, Patricia and Charles Pruyn. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, David  E. Johnson, children; Sharon (James) Reynolds, Linda (Patrick) Breen, and David L. (Leslie) Johnson, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a sister Mary Anne (Leonard) Keen. WALWORTH: Age 97, beloved husband, father, grandfather and  great grandfather passed away on November 13, 2018. Born in Leroy, New York, Warren lived for a time in Florida, but the place he called home as a child was the hamlet of Pulteney, on Keuka Lake.  In 1942 he moved to Walworth, New York where he spent the remainder of his life. Warren is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Betty. Together for 35 years Warren and Betty owned and operated  Bell’s Service Station at the four corners in Walworth. The work was hard but the lifelong friends made in town made it all worthwhile.  Warren was a combat World War II veteran, serving in the Pacific Arena including Okinawa, Leyte and  Kwajalein Island. Warren loved spending time with Betty and his family and friends at his cottage he built with is son and friends on Pike Lake in Canada, where they loved to fish, sail and charcoal grill for hours. Besides his wife, Warren is survived and will be dearly missed by his daughters, Mindy (Dominic) Pellegrino, Becky (George) Lennon and son Gaylord (Diane) Bell; grandchildren, Daniel (Brenda), Jilian, Audrey (Colin), Lauren, Kevin, Celeste and Phillip; great grandchildren, Alyssa, Jordan and Courtney; many nieces, nephews and friends.
