Fox, Charlotte Mae

PALMYRA: After a brief illness, Charlotte passed away on July 1, 2020 at age 81.  Charlotte was predeceased by her husband, Glenn W. Fox, Sr.; daughter, Glenna Jean Fox; parents, Robert and Alberta Lute; brothers, Larry and James Lute. She is survived by her children, Karen Fox, Mae Fox (Keith Harwood) and Glenn (Christa) Fox, Jr.; grandchildren, Brandon Fox and Brekkin Harwood; loving companion, Marv Loveless; siblings, Shirley Randall, Robert Lute, Jr., Betty Lockard, Rick (Shirley) Lute, Kenny (Kay) Lute and Debbie (Wayne) Sutch; many nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Charlotte managed the Village Blacksmith in Macedon for many years, worked for the American Can and retired from Xerox Corp. She loved taking road trips to many destinations across the country.  Charlotte’s family and friends will always remember her for her special occasion cakes and welcoming smile. She loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren.  Charlotte will be dearly missed. Family and friends may gather for calling hours from 4-7 PM on Friday (July 10) at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 123 E. Roberts, Michael H. “Mike”

WALWORTH: Passed away on March 14, 2020 at the age of 71.  Mike was born on June 1, 1948 in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late Dallas “Potter” and Richard Roberts. He was also predeceased by his brother Gary.  Survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandy (Passed away on June 27, 2020); daughter Paula (Joshua) Ruffell and his grandsons, Cuyler and Brody Ruffell, extended family and many friends. Mike had a love for classic cars. He had a 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. Mike was not a big conversationalist, but was a loyal friend and had many friendships stemming back to his youth. He loved his family and truly enjoyed being a part of his grandsons lives. He and his grandsons enjoyed playing UNO and took pride in their bragging rights upon beating the other. Mike had been a machinist with Xerox Corp and he served our nation through the United States Navy. WALWORTH: Passed away on June 27, 2020 at the age of 75.  Sandy was born on June 14, 1945 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Dorothy “Poe” and Richard VanDuinen. Sandy was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Michael. She is survived by her daughter Paula (Joshua) Ruffell; grandsons Cuyler and Brody Ruffell, extended family and friends. Sandy had spent the last 15 years suffering with her affliction with Multiple Sclerosis.  She never complained and did not let it get her down. Sandy always had a smile on her face. She had tremendous strength.She enjoyed the company of her Siamese cats and truly enjoyed being with her grandsons and family. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Wayne County Nursing Home for all of their care for Sandy.  A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 1PM at the Lakeview Cemetery, Pultneyville, NY.  Due to COVID-19 we ask that everyone wear their mask. WOLCOTT: Jane passed away peacefully, on Friday, June 26th at Sodus Nursing and Rehabilitation with her longtime, good friend Annie Hoeffner by her side. She was born on July 9th, 1933 to Howard (Dorothy) VanHee in Savannah, NY. After graduating from Wolcott Central School in 1951, she attended the Rochester Business Institute and served in the Woman’s Army Corp from 1954-1955 as a Stenographer and typing instructor. Jane was a lifelong, avid, bingo player and wouldn’t miss her weekly hair appointment. She is survived by Robert Bush (Lisa Salotto Bush) of Wickliffe, OH, Rebecca Bush of Columbus, GA, James Bush (Tracie Winnie} of Albany, NY; Stepchildren, Howard “Bucky” Doty of Lakeland, FL and Cindy Betts (Dennis Henwood) of Sodus, NY; several nieces, nephews, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and loving friends and caregivers. She is proceeded in death by her husband Leslie “Let” Doty; siblings, Herbert VanHee and Lois (Carlton) Rice; Stepchildren, Jeanine Duryee and Annette Doty Mariott. ONTARIO/WILLIAMSON: Passed away on July 2, 2020 at the age of 68.  LuAnn was born in Rochester, New York on May 9, 1952. She was born to the late James N. Engleson and Alverna B. Engleson Stoller and Hyman Stoller.  She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Don Camp; children Rachel (David) Smith, Aaron (Julie) Camp and Megan (André) Guay; grandchildren Victoria (Brock) Hepler, Kayla Fiano, Rachel (Cody) Smith, Zachary Smith, Ashton Guay, Kaleb Guay, Izek Guay; great grandchildren Cooper Hepler and Erin Fiano; siblings Jerry, Tom, Dan, Wayne, Randy and Bob, Carol, Elinor (Tiny) and Tom; brother-in-law Norman (Patty) Camp; predeceased by her siblings Dan and Linda; several cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. LuAnn was raised in Ontario, NY and went to Wayne Central School until her family moved to Pleasanton, CA where she graduated in 1970. She was employed by Xerox in Webster, NY for 35 years until she retired in 2008.  She loved to travel with her family and spent as much time with them as she could. She enjoyed antiques, primitives, shopping and decorating her beautiful home with her very special friends. She was a genuine true friend to all.  She loved with her whole heart.  She had a contagious laugh and smile that would light up the room. She always saw the good in everybody.  Instead of grieving her, we need to all remember her, and keep her memories alive. NORTH ROSE: Passed away suddenly on June 23 2020 at her home. Linda was born on June 1, 1956 and was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Leona Keukelarr Calus. She was predeceased by siblings, Nancy, Barb, Jim, Dolores and Shirley. Linda is survived by her husband Kevin Wilson of 40 years, sons Chad (Brita) Wilson of Duluth Minnesota, Kris (Carrie Palmer) of North Rose. Shane Wilson of Connecticut, two brothers, Dick (Cathy) Calus of Webster. Donny (Sharon) Calus of Williamson. and one grandson Branden. She also leaves behind her beloved dog Abby, many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. She loved her family and truly enjoyed being part of her grandsons life. Linda was employed for many years at Mobil Chemical in Macedon, was a bus driver for the North Rose school district, and retired from Ultra life batteries in Newark before becoming a full-time homemaker. Santoro, Anthony Gordon

NEWARK: Anthony Gordon Santoro entered into eternal rest on June 28, 2020 at the age 72.  Tony, or “T” as his friends knew him, was born in Newark, New York and attended Newark High School. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York College in Cortland. The oldest of five children, Tony was an outstanding athlete in high school and lettered in baseball, football and basketball.  He was presented the school’s Coaches Award for the many sports he excelled at before attending Cortland College where he studied Chemistry. He was intellectually curious and a voracious reader who was admired in the family and the community for his peaceful, good-natured personality and approach. Predeceased by parents Gordon and Virginia Santoro of Newark and a beloved aunt, Aquila Zacharilla, and uncle, Peter J. Zacharilla of Lyons.   Survived by sister Margaret (Jack) Lisena, Cave Creek AZ, James, Newport News Va., John (Elizabeth), Palm Beach, Fla., and Charles, Rochester NY.  The Santoro family would like to note the kindness of Mr. Fred Baker of Savannah, NY for helping Tony bravely battle health issues, and was Tony’s caregiver and extended family during the last decade of his life. LYONS: Helen M. Jelomono, 88, died peacefully at home on July 4, 2020, after a long illness. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday (July 9) at St. Joseph’s the Worker (St. Michaels) Phelps St., Lyons. Burial will follow in the South Lyons Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael’s Church, Lifetime Care Hospice, 800 W. Miller St., Newark or the Humane Society of Wayne County. Helen was born in Lyons in 1931, the daughter of George and Theresa DeMatteis Petrus. She worked at Dobbins Drugs for many years. Helen loved to travel, play golf, and garden. She was a member of the Lyons Fitness Center and enjoyed walking. She also belonged to two quilting groups and enjoyed cross stitching and painting. Her home was filled with her lovely finished products. Helen enjoyed many years of good food and fun with the CLNEDS gourmet group. Helen is survived by daughter, Judith (Richard) Lynn of N. Cohocton; son, Ralph (Chip) Jelomono of Early Branch, S.C.; two grandchildren Christopher (Bevin) Lynn of Dansville, and Daniel (Amanda) Lynn of Seattle, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews. PALMYRA: Draven Michael Starr-Howell, 20, passed away Friday (July 3, 2020) at Rochester General Hospital after a heroic rescue at Sodus Point, NY. A celebration of Draven’s life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Bible Baptist Church of Sodus, 6181 Ridge Road, Sodus, NY. In lieu of flowers, Martin’s Tidesides Marina is holding a fund raiser and receiving donations in Draven’s honor at 7250 Route 14, Sodus Point, NY 14555; Lowe’s Macedon has set up a ‘Go Fund Me’ in Draven’s name that can be found by searching on Facebook or directly to the family at 3759 Huntley Road, Lot 82, Marion, NY 14505 to assist the family in this difficult time. Draven was born January 18, 2000, the son of Atarra Starr and Christopher Howell in Geneva, NY. He attended school in Webster, NY. He proudly served as first mate, with his father and Uncle Victor, rebuilding a boat and its engines for their new venture as ‘Hell Yeah Charters’. He had just become a boat owner himself. Draven worked side by side with his mother Atarra at Lowe’s in Macedon. He loved fishing and camping in the great outdoors. Draven enjoyed evenings with family having barbecues and bonfires. He loved listening to music and singing with an animation only Draven could do so well. He was a huge fan of scary movies, staying up late watching one after another with his mother. He proudly took on the roll of ‘Man of the house’ as helped provide for his family. With love he was always there to care for his grandmother Pat. Draven lived his life selflessly always thinking of and helping others. Meeting him you instantly had a friend with a simple “Hello”. Draven’s nephew Max tells people, “Draven is busy being a superhero in the sky.” He is survived by his parents Atarra Starr of Palmyra and Chris (Tara) Howell of Marion; sisters Sierra, Alahna, Lilyann, Natalia, and Makayla; brother Hayden; grandparents Patricia Starr of Palmyra, Linda Howell of Sodus, Donna and Scott Francis of Marion; aunts Nikki (Ben) Frankie and Jami (Jason) Daily Carolyn (Mark) Perez, Diane (Greg) Jolly and several other aunts, uncles, cousins. WALWORTH/FAIRPORT: Passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at the age of 80. She was predeceased by her parents, Norma “Valentine” and Walter Thedens; brother Larry Thedens and husband William Finney. She is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Mark) Scheemaker, Sue (Bobby) Burgess and Mary Piper; son, Stephen (Barb) Scott; grandchildren, Matthew Scheemaker, Michael Scheemaker, Myah Scott and Taryn Scott; great grandson Bryson Scheemaker; stepchildren, Donna Gange, Rick (Bubba) Finney, Mark Finney and families; extended family and friends. Joyce was born on the Valentine Farm along Penfield-Walworth Road (Route 441) and grew up in West Walworth. She was the Walworth Town Clerk for 13 years, and later worked for Mobil Chemical and Mary Cariola Childrens Center. She belonged to the Walworth Historical Society, loved attending church and traveling. NORTH ROSE: Frank D La Valley, 75, of North Rose, passed away July 7, after a long, full life with his family. He was born in 1944 to Oscar and Mildred (Haggerty) La Valley. Frank graduated from North Rose High School in 1961. He married Carol (Torrey) La Valley in 1963. Frank is survived by his wife Carol, son Franklin La Valley and wife Cheryl (Bauer) La Valley, and daughter Tracy La Valley-Hall and husband Richard Hall. Grandchildren Kendra (Granger) Cagle and husband Chris Cagle, Jack Granger, Chelsey La Valley (Tryon) and husband Leon Tryon, and Garrett La Valley. Great-grandchildren Lily Cagle, Macy Cagle and Abel Tryon. Step-grandchildren Courtney Hall, and Hanna Hall. Also Numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Oscar and Mildred, his siblings Silvia, Oscar, Shirley, James, Larry, Mildred, David and Debra. Frank was a dedicated employee of Xerox Corporation for 35 years, as well as a Fire Department member and Commissioner to the North Rose Fire Department for much of his life. He worked alongside his family as a youth building break walls, docks and made other shoreline

improvements to Sodus Bay. Frank spent his lifetime living on and loving Sodus Bay, he spent many hours on the bay fishing and enjoying time with his family. As a child, he and his siblings would sled down Bay Shore Rd when the roads were closed, but not before icing it down to add just a little more excitement. Frank believed in honesty, integrity, kindness and community. His final project as Fire Commissioner was to see that there was a sub-station built for the fire department so that the homes on the north east side of the bay would be safe. Most of all Frank was an exceptional Husband, father, grandfather, and mentor to so many.  NEWARK: Rose V. Hiller, 98, of Newark passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. There will be no prior visitations.  A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 AM, Wednesday, July 15 at St. Michael’s Church (St. Joseph the Worker). Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, immediately following Mass. Rose was born November 6, 1921 in Lyons, NY the daughter of the late Joseph and Filomena  (D’Amato) Ticconi. She is survived by two brothers, Arthur Ticconi of Waterloo, Ralph Ticconi of Seneca Falls and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Tom Hiller; 8 siblings; in-laws; and many nieces and nephews. CHARLESTON, SC: Formerly of Palmyra, NY, passed away peacefully the morning of July 10, 2020, after a short battle with aggressive cancer. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Gordon Ashbarry are invited to attend his Visitation between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. As per social distancing guidelines, all attendees will kindly wear a mask. Best known for a wide range of mechanical skills, Christopher will be missed by many. Since moving to Charleston he mostly enjoyed boating and offshore fishing with great friends. Christopher is survived by his wife Jane; parents: Esther Mosher Ashbarry and Tom (Maureen) Ashbarry; daughter Rachel; son Tim (Julie) Bond; brothers Tom (Betty) and Mark; sisters Linda Wilson and Heather (Randall) Oreta; and grandchildren Zoey and Anthony Bond. NEWARK: Burnell “Bernie” Henson, 71, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 10, 2020, at Rochester General Hospital. Family will greet friends from 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday (July 15) at Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark.  A graveside service will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Oaklawn Cemetery, Phelps.  In memory of Bernie, in lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Newark Volunteer Fire Department, 150 East Miller Street, Newark, NY 14513 or American Heart Association, 25 Circle Street, Rochester, NY 14607. Bernie was born the son of the late Burnell (Helen) Henson on Sunday, October 10, 1948, in Geneva, NY. He spent his life in the Newark area attending both Phelps and Newark schools. He went to work for Xerox after school and would retire from there 38 years later.  Most will remember Bernie from the Newark Fire Department as he was a volunteer there for over 47 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, classic cars, and dirt track races. Bernie will be remembered by his children, Jeremy Henson, Kimberly (Scott) Homer and Daniel Henson; grandchildren, Sarah McRobbie, Sean McRobbie, Amelia Henson and Addison Henson; great-grandchild, Thomas Pender; mother of Bernie’s children, Joslyn Henson; several nieces and nephews.
