OVIEDO, FL.: Age 79, died peacefully in her home Tuesday, June 16, 2020 in She was a longtime Florida resident but her heart always remained on the family farm where she was raised by her parents, Warren and Lucille Jordan and rode her horse “Rusty” across the creek to bring the cows up from the pasture. Marilyn was a graduate of the Palmyra-Macedon Class of 1958 where she was active in the Band and played tenor sax. Soon after graduation she married her high school sweetheart, Francis Main then began a new chapter of her life as a “Proud Military Spouse” as they started their family. During deployments to Viet Nam, South Korea and inspection tours, she was steadfast in her dedication and devotion to family and country as she had to become mother and father to their four children. Active in Scouts and in her children’s sports programs, she would perform whatever was required; from chauffeuring the team down the German Autobahn to announcing at the games. Throughout her travels, she never met a stranger – she made friends wherever she went. Her love of this Country, Military Families and all Veterans was immeasurable. Football season was her favorite time of the year as she would cheer on the “Florida Gators” and Tampa Bay Bucs! Her claim to “fame” was making sure her children and grandchildren knew about the game of football! Marilyn was a devoted wife, mom, gramma and great gramma, and to carry on her legacy of love and compassion for all things, is her loving husband of 62 years, Francis Main and her 4 children: daughter, Susan (predeceased by husband Scott)  Fergerson, her sons, Mark (Dawn) Main, Timothy (Marie) Main, and her daughter Michelle (John) Chappell.  She is survived by her nine grandchildren, Sheelah, Mark, Jason, Nicole, Charles, Shane, William, Jordan, and Rebecca. Also, 12 great grandchildren, her sister Elaine (Jon) Phelps, several nieces and nephews, and cousins. A celebration of her life was held at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, Florida.

SODUS POINT: Joseph E. Nagel, age 60, passed away on May 26th in his home. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lakeview Shelter Pavilion in Webster Park on July 17th, 2020 from 3pm until 8pm. Service begins at 4pm by the lake. Joe was born in Ontario, NY to James and Agnes Nagel on July 17th, 1959. He was a skilled carpenter, mechanic and craftsman. He was an avid fisherman, lover of flowers, dirt bike enthusiast and member of the Wayne County Motorcycle Club. Joe is survived by his children Andrew, Amanda, Shawn and their families.

NEWARK: Sylvia A. Verkey, 77, died Saturday (July 11, 2020) at Wayne County Nursing Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials, in her name, may be made to Wayne County Humane Society, 1475 County House Rd., Lyons, NY  14489. Mrs. Verkey was born on July 1, 1943 the daughter of Joseph and Alice Calus Williams in Newark, New York. She was a graduate of Newark High School.   She worked and retired from Hallagan Furniture as a fabric cutter. She went on to work at Dollar General until she retired.  The family would like to thank everyone at the Wayne County Nursing Home and Newark Wayne Community Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion. NEWARK: Entered into eternal rest on Sunday. July 12, 2020 at the age of 94. Hugh was born in the Netherlands on July 20, 1925, and is predeceased by his first wife of sixty years, Janey. He is survived by his second wife of seven years, Virginia; six children, Leonard (Janet K), John (Fran), Hugh Jr. (Kathy), Clarence (Susan), Alida (Henry) Alberts and Janet. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, three sisters and two brothers. Hugh was employed for many years by Hallagan Manufacturing. He was a faithful member of the East Palmyra Christian Reformed Church and a long time supporter of the East Palmyra Christian School. ONTARIO:  Of Slocum Road,  passed away peacefully at the age of 83 in his home on Monday, July 13, surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rosalind, and his six children, Renee (Roger) Hall, Rana (Dan Pidek) Larner, Fred R. McCall, Jr., Timothy (Pam) McCall, Robert (Julie) McCall, and Jody (Vincent Buonanno) McCall. He is also survived by nine grandchildren of whom he was proud and loved dearly – Shawna (Justin) Barnes, Amanda and Travis Larner, Kira and Cassie McCall, Alec and Collin McCall, and Taylor and Brianna McCall – his sisters, Edna Jean Murray and Diane (Leo) Dioguardi, his brother, Byron (Jane) McCall, and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, family, and friends. Fred was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Lois McCall, and his brothers-in-law, James Pagliuso, Richard Gerber, and Sam Murray. Born in Batavia, N.Y., in 1937, Fred spent two years serving in the army, before dedicating his life to his family. He will be remembered for his warm heart, witty sense of humor, and his love of country music. A hard, blue-collar worker, Fred enjoyed being outside and getting his hands dirty, and had a passion for construction and farm machinery, tractor-trailers, and trains. He also enjoyed afternoon coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts with his dear friends and stopping by Sue’s Little Pizza Shop for a slice. PALMYRA: Nanette died suddenly on July 4, 2020 at age 57.  She was predeceased by her parents, Johnny B. Willis and Marsha McBride; sister, Kimberly Willis. Nanette is survived by her husband, Efrain “Frank” Rosario, Sr.; children, Tyree Willis, Efrain Rosario, Jr. and Charlin Rosario; many beautiful grandchildren; siblings, Eva Elmore, Mattie Boyd, Prestina Willis, Duane Willis, Jason Willis, Johnny B. “Champ” Willis, Jr.; many nieces and nephews. Nanette was a very gentle, loving, and nurturing woman who touched everyone that knew her.  She indulged her inquisitive children and grandchildren with books and anything else to appease their thirst for knowledge. She loved gardening, craft making, and animals of all kinds. Nanette opened up the world to her son, Tyree and brother, Duane by taking them on various trips around the country, showing them the world was much bigger than the eastside of Rochester. Nanette’s life was one of tremendous service. She was devoted to serving her husband of 27 years. She also extended service to many others around her, including people at work and strangers in the community. She served many years in various church responsibilities. She was a teacher to many children through the years who loved her deeply. Most recently she served the women in her congregation as a counselor in the Relief Society, which is one of the world’s oldest service organizations established for women. Lastly, Nanette was a woman of great faith. She was devoted to and felt  blessed by her Heavenly Father and Savior every day of her life. If anyone ever asked her how she was, she would always answer “I am blessed!”. Fenyn, Adrian “Ed”

NEWARK: Adrian “Ed” Fenyn, 81, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday (July 8, 2020) at FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua.He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years Mary Jo (Severson) Fenyn and daughter Valerie Fenyn; his grandchildren, Alexander and Gabriella Bussani; his sisters Jane Jeszenka and Jeanette (Marvin) Gage; many nephews and nieces. Ed was predeceased by his parents, a son Brent and daughter Tracy Fenyn Bussani; a brother Hendrik “Hank”.  Ed was born on October 21, 1938, the son of Adrian and Wilhelmina VanDenHeuvel Fenyn and raised in Breskens, Holland until 1951, when his family relocated to Newark. He was a 1958 graduate of Newark High School. After graduating from R.I.T., Ed worked for Pfaudler corporation as a finance executive for more than 30 years. In retirement, he served as the Treasurer of the Newark Elks Club.  Friends of Ed remember his sense of humor,  love of sports and his great big smile. A private family service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, August 14th at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home. Passed away peacefully on July 8, 2020 at the Friendly Home in Rochester.  He was the loving husband of the late Frances “Bibeault”. He was born July 1, 1925 in Woonsocket, RI.  Predeceased by daughters Susan Savini and Cynthia Gange, brothers Antonio, Pombeii “Bob”, Arthur, Raymond, Ronald, and sisters Philomena, Elia Maria “Mary” and Josephine. Father of Connie, Michael (Claire), David, Paul (Kathy), Teresa (Bill Carbone), and Elizabeth. Proud Grandfather of Mary Elizabeth (Eric), Caroline, Caitlin, Dan, Derick (Vanessa), Brendan, Jacqueline, Rashat, Trisha, Tyler, Kirsten, Nathan, Ian, Sean, Kelly, and great-grandfather of Vivian. George was a WWII veteran and known for being a proud Marine. He retired from the Eastman Kodak Company as a Department Head in their Government Systems Division. He was an avid pilot and member of the Williamson Flying Club.  He leaves behind extended family and many friends. MANCHESTER: Passed away on July 12, 2020 at 79 years old.  Walt was predeceased by his parents Roy and Emma, son Walter and siblings Jake, Howard and Sharon.   He is survived by his loving wife Nancy; children Mary Jo (Dan) Evans, Tracey (Darrell) Burns, Allen (Chris) Estey and Cathy (Bob) Estey; grandchildren Daniel Evans, Michael Prouty and Stephanie Groot; great grandchildren Baylee and Madilynn Groot and sister Donna Mills. Walt served in the U.S. Army and was an Electrician at Eastman Kodak Company until he retired in 2001. In retirement he enjoyed hunting, spending time with family and good friends, and going to their camp at Junius Ponds. Quick, Paul Floren

PALMYRA: Age 78, passed away on July 10, 2020. He was with his wife Janice and his daughter Paula when the Lord called him home. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Everett and Allie, his sister Elsie Fernaays, his brother Alan, and his son Matthew along with his brother-in-law, Marvin Durfee. He is survived by his wife, Janice of 53 years, their two children, Jason and Paula, his son Michael, his four grandchildren, Darwin Michielsen III (Tres), Samuel, Isaac, and Elias, his sister-in-laws, Jeanne Durfee and Ruth (John) Landry as well as many nieces and nephews. Paul was born on November 21, 1941 in Rochester, NY.  As a young boy growing up in Ontario Center, Paul was very proud of his Upper Mohawk (Turtle Clan), Six Nations Band heritage. His Mohawk heritage served him well when he joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17 and did a tour in Vietnam as a Scout and Sharpshooter. During his time in the Marines Paul also became an accomplished baker. After serving six years in the Marines, he returned home and joined the Laborers Union, Local 435 where he proudly spent thirty years improving Rochester’s infrastructure. In 1966, he met Janice, and they married on June 3, 1967. Together they supported their children and family members. Paul was active in the Pal-Mac community where he voluntarily coached a variety of sports teams in support of his children.  Paul was passionate about cooking, fishing, hunting, reading, motorcycling and attending small music festivals. He was a loving and challenging husband, father and loyal friend. Betty (Amon) Crocker

Sodus: Betty L. Crocker passed away peacefully on July 16, 2020 at Wayne County Nursing Home at the age of 88.

Betty is predeceased by her husband, Tom Crocker and daughter, Denise VanCuyck. She is survived by daughters, Carol (Dick) DeVolder and Celeste (Daniel) Zimmer; sister, June Smith of Clyde NY; seven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Betty was a member of the Sodus United Methodist Church. Betty is best remembered for being a “cook” at Myers Community Hospital. What a cook she was! She arranged flowers in a Florist and worked at CVS helping the pharmacist with meds also.

We want to thank the staff at the Wayne County Nursing home.

Audrey was born the daughter of the late Neeper and Elizabeth (Hendershot) Carnell on Wednesday, September 25, 1935, in Pennsylvania. Audrey worked for Finger Lakes DDSO for over 30 years.  She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Audrey enjoyed trips to the casino playing slots and watching horse racing, Buffalo Bills, country music, NASCAR, Euchre, and had an extensive penguin collection. Audrey will be remembered by her loving children, Karen Tirado, McCrady Magwood and Virginia Majewicz; grandchildren Jeremiah Magwood, Shelly Downey, Michael Tirado, John Muir, Amanda Tirado-Jacob, Kimberly Craver, Angela Tirado, McCrady Magwood, III and Amber Magwood; great-grandchildren Erica, Jake, Seth, Gabe, Ayden, Faith, Sharon, Emma, Alissa, Joseph, Jace, Ansley, Hailey and Silas; great-great-grandchildren Bryson and Kohen; sister-in-law, Karen Carnell. Lawson, Fred J.

PALMYRA: Fred J Lawson, of Palmyra NY passed in his sleep at his home on July 12th, 2020 at age 74.  He was born in Rochester, NY. Fred was the 10th child of Evelyn (Male) Lawson and Herbert J Lawson. He was pre-deceased by his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Fred is survived by his son, Joby (Linda) Lawson of Walworth; as well as Fred’s 2 sisters; Katherine (Dale) Powell of Port Byron, Margaret Watts of Manchester, and his brother Walt Lawson of Newark. After his service in the United States Marines Corps, as a combat engineer during Vietnam, Fred returned home to start a family and ultimately began his lifelong career with the Palmyra Highway Department, retiring after 36 years of service. During his retirement he enjoyed tending his numerous flower gardens, working on various outdoor projects around his home, as well as helping others with their projects… he was always busy. He loved nature and the outdoors and spending time with his cat “Buddy”. He always looked forward to his “coffee time” at the Akropolis as well. He is also predeceased by his 3rd wife Carol A. (Carney) Skelly, and his 1st wife Suzanne M. (Smith) Coxford. His 2nd wife Carol R. (Loucks) Skelly is still living. He is survived by his children Coda Skelly and Sharon Coxford-Yingst. He is also survived by his niece Kathy Bassett and step-children Karen Essom and Debbie Blair. Bud lived a colorful and many-careered life. He operated Bernie’s Tavern in the 1950s, he raced stock cars in the 1960s at the Canandaigua Speedway, he served on the Wayne County Planning Board in the 2000s. In his younger years, he was an avid bowler on a bowling league,and, he owned a motel in the Florida keys. He personally met the infamous Gypsy Rose Lee in the 1950s, who appeared at a club that a close relative worked at as a server. Bud was a charter boat captain for over 50 years, mostly aboard the Lucky Strike on Lake Ontario. He also served as a schoolteacher for over 25 years at Monroe Boces where he taught automotive repair. In the 1980s he owned a furniture store, and in the 1990s he opened the Anchorage Restaurant on Port Bay. He will be sadly missed by his dear friends Mike Beyo, Jamie Chudyk, Steven Nicklos, Carl Bauer, and Todd Rider.
