LYONS: Catherine Lynn Brothers, 46 entered eternal rest on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. Cathy was born the daughter of Howard Brothers and Sally (Stark) Brothers on Thursday, December 10, 1970 Potsdam, NY. She spent her life in the Lyons area. Cathy enjoyed country music and pets. Cathy will be remembered by her mother Sally (Stark) Brothers (Gerald Cook Sr); father Howard Brothers; step brother Gerald Cook Jr.; step-nephew Jacob Cook; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; many friends and staff at Wayne ARC.
Family will greet friends on Tuesday (Sept. 26) from 10 to 11 a.m. at Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark. A Funeral Service will follow calling at 11 a.m. Burial will be Friday (Sept. 29) at 1 p.m. in Fort Jackson Cemetery, Fort Jackson, NY

WILLIAMSON: Entered into rest on September 24, 2017 at age 88. Predeceased by his wife: Melba DeMay and brother: Robert DeMay. Doug was a long time farmer and a retired school bus driver for Williamson Central Schools. He was also a lifetime member of the East Williamson Fire Department. NEWARK/CLAYTON: Age 81, of Newark joined the Choir in Heaven with her beautiful singing voice. She Passed a away at her home on September 15 after a long illness. She was under the care of her loving husband Ora and Hospice of Wayne and Seneca Counties. Nancy was born on May 10, 1936 in Watertown, NY, the daughter of Frederick and Beatrice (Carr) Countryman. She graduated from Watertown High School at the age of 17 in the final January graduation in 1954. While still in high school Nancy worked part time for a doctor in the Woolworth building doing secretarial work. She also worked for Westinghouse. Later jobs included the 1000 Island Bridge Authority, Alexandria Bay Hospital as an Administrator, Hospice of Jefferson and St. Lawrence County and as Activities Director for Samaritan Keep in Watertown. In 1958 she married George L. Waterson who passed away in 2008. Nancy loved to sing and was active in many choirs over the years, sometimes directing. She was sought after as a soloist and often sang duets with her close friend Helen Ingerson. She was a member of Northern Choral Society of Watertown when they went on tour singing in England and Wales in 1992. In 2014 she reconnected with her high school sweetheart Ora P. Ball and they were married in November of that year at the River Community Church of Clayton where Nancy was a member. Survivors include her loving husband, Ora. Her son Russell (Annette) in Brooksville Florida; brother Dennis P. Countryman in Kingston, NY; sister Rev. Jane E. (Clark) Wagner of Harrisville, NY; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Nancy is predeceased by her mother the Rev. Beatrice Carr Clark and step father Vernon H. Clark(Pop); her son Jeffery Waterson; a sister Patricia Countryman, and a brother Rev. Joseph L. Countryman. Burial at a later date at the Riverside Cemetery on Wellesley Island. PALMYRA: Age 83, died on Mon., Sept. 25, 2017. Bill was born on May 4, 1934 in Oswego, NY the son of William And Rose Buske Mullen. He was a graduate of Oswego High School and Mohawk Valley Community College. The funeral home proudly flies the United States Navy Flag in honor of Bill’s service to our country. Bill was a retiree of Xerox and a member of St. Patrick’s Church. He enjoyed gardening and working in his yard as well as bird watching. Bill’s loves were his family, his church and nature. Bill was predeceased by his wife Mary Alice in 1995. He is survived by his daughter Ann (Greg) Young; son Will (Susan) Mullen; sisters Rose Maire Mullen SOSF and Linda Iwanski; special friend Elenore Chiavetta and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

WILLIAMSON: WILLIAMSON: Passed away suddenly on 9/23/17 at age 82. He is predeceased by his parents, Irving and Elizabeth (VanKowenburg) Adriaansen; Wife, Phyllis Adriaansen. He is survived by his sons David (Elisa) Adriaansen, Donald (Kathleen) Adriaansen, Dale Adriaansen, Alan (Rose) Mogray, and Stephen Mogray and daughter, Lynne (Marty) Gochenaur; grandchildren, Erin, Lindsey and Kyle Adriaansen; Ashton and Rachael Gochenaur; Nichole (Mason) Dawson; Zachary, Emily, Parker, Paige and Savannah Mogray; great grandson, Tucker Dawson; brother Richard (Mary) Adriaansen and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Born in Marion, July 18, 1935 to Irving & Elizabeth (nee: Van Kouwenberg) Adriaansen. He grew up on the farm, graduated from Marion High School & Syracuse University. He served six years as an officer in the U.S. Army, attaining captain rank.  He enjoyed a long & prosperous career as a businessman. He blessed many individuals & causes by his generosity with his time, talent & other precious resources. He was an active member of Second Reformed Church & a friend to many.

BREWERTON, NY: Age 77, of Albert Dr., passed away at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC., died Thursday, September 14, 2017. Ed was born in Victory, a son to Arlie E. and Helen Osborn Clingerman. He was in the National Guard of New York and worked at General Motors in Syracuse for 31 years. Predeceased by his wife Ardys Anne (Whipps) Clingerman after 44 years of marriage, and son, Randy P. Clingerman in 2013. Survived by 3 sons, Troy E. Clingerman of Columbia, TN, Erik A. Clingerman of Simpsonville, SC and Timothy G. Clingerman of Cicero, NY; 7 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Bertha Clingerman Maracle and Mary Clingerman Kilmer; nieces and nephews and extended family.
A graveside service will be held Friday (Sept. 29) 11 am at York Settlement Cemetery, Town of Huron.

MARION: Age 74 passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 19, 2017 after a brief illness. Bob was born on April 7, 1943 to Robert and Dora Mullin. He resided in Marion all of his life. He worked for Eastman Kodak Company as a Crane Operator for 31 years. He was a life member of the Marion Fire Department and served as a Commissioner for the Marion Fire District. Bob was predeceased by his father Robert Mullin Sr and brother Reginald. Bob is survived by his Mother Dora Mullin, children Robin (Jeff) Ford of Pulaski, Steven (Christine) Mullin of Ontario, Scott (Melisa) Mullin of Marion, 3 granddaughters, Leah, Allison and Kelsey, siblings Joyce (Lynn) Salisbury, Darlene (Dwaine) Denosky, Cheryl (Mark) Vanderbrook and Eugene (Vicky) Mullin, dear friend Linda Stritzel and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday September 29, 2017 from 2-4 PM at the Marion Fire Department, Mill Street, Marion NY, to be followed by private graveside service.

PEAKS ISLAND, MAINE: Passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017 at the age of 55 after an extended illness in Peaks Island, Maine. Tim was predeceased by his parents Robert C. and Joan P. Nihoff and nephew Jamey Valentine. He is survived by his siblings; Debra (Cliff) Paige of Martville, NY and Robert K. Nihoff of Brookline, MA, his nephew Cory S. Jarvis of Spartanburg, SC, 2 great-nephews; Nicholas Hartnett and Zen Jarvis along with his “Island” family and all the people he encountered throughout his career. Tim was born on February 5, 1962. He graduated from North Rose Wolcott High School in 1981 and then went to SUNY at Fredonia where he graduated in 1986. Tim created Tim Nihoff Studios in Boston, MA and became a professional illustrator, designer and creative artist. He worked on several projects for Rand McNally, PBS, Nickelodeon, logos, toy packaging, games, children’s books and a pet project he dubbed “The Dollar Bill Project” which he enjoyed giving out as tips. He later moved to Peaks Island, ME which he shared with many other artisans and crafts people. He continued to create for local businesses on the island and ran his studio from home. COCOA BEACH, FL/MACEDON: Died on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the age of 80. Jean was born on June 4, 1937 in Newark, NY the daughter of Emiel and Dorothy Middaugh DeBuyser. She had spent much of her life in Florida where she pursued her zest for life. Jean was a leader of a local Al-Anon group and president of the resident’s association at Asbury Arms. Never one to sit still, Jean enjoyed painting and crafts and being on the go even though legally blind and confined to a wheelchair. Her guide dog Wagner was a constant companion. Jean is survived by her daughter Terri (Wayne) Nichols; sons Jeffrey (Donna) Stickler and Christopher Stickler; brothers James (Peggy) DeBuyser, Marvin (Jan) DeBuyser, Frank (Pat) DeBuyser; aunt Jean DeBuyser; sister-in-law Donna DeBuyser; grandchildren Anthony Stickler, Don Lee Stickler, Jessica Nichols, Jennifer Jackson, Jeremy Nichols and Jordan Nichols and 9 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers Larry DeBuyser and David DeBuyser.

Trumble, Douglas J. “Doug”

ONTARIO: Passed away, with family by his side,  on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the age of 66. Doug was born in Newark, NY on September 11, 1951 to Berna “ Bushy” and Thomas Trumble.  He is predeceased by his father; brother’s Phillip and Gary Trumble; sister, Sandy Reed.  He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Chris; daughter Michelle (Joseph) Carello; son, Shawn Trumble; grandchildren, Brent Loveless, Jared and Joey Carello; siblings, Madonna Morse, Charles Trumble, Andrew Trumble, Elaine Mullens and Julie Trumble, in-laws Marcella ‘Jones’ and Wilson Bruce, extended family and friends. Doug obtained his associates degree from Monroe Community college and was employed by Xerox from 1971 until his retirement in 2013.  He was very focused on caring for his family and enjoyed taking them on vacations.  He enjoyed going to Florida and spending time at Disney World as well as Venice on the Gulf Coast.  He also enjoyed going to 4th Lake in the Adirondack Mountains.  Most of all, his family says that, his favorite place to spend time on vacation was in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  Doug will be remembered most for his generosity towards his family and friends.

EAST PALMYRA: Florence S. Wilkins, 99 entered eternal rest on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at her home of 66 years. Florence was born the daughter of the late Charles and Susan B. (McWhorter) Straight on Monday, September 23, 1918, in Elmira, NY. She spent most of her life in the East Palmyra area. Florence enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading and genealogy. She was always very active in the community. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Newark, past President of East Palmyra Cemetery Board and a member of the Marion Eastern Star. Florence was also a longtime member of the East Palmyra Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, DAR member, and Geneva Stamp Club. Florence will be remembered by her son, Donald (Drema) Wilkins; daughter, Jeanne Garlock; six grandchildren four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Florence was predeceased by her husband Harry E. Wilkins on April 17, 2014, daughter, Deborah Bush in 1998; brothers, Charles, Ralph and Ray Straight. She was a devoted daughter, caring for her parents in their later years, loving wife who helped her husband in his many remodeling jobs, along with being a golf partner, and stay at home mom for her twins. She was a proud Nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. For many years, she provided Christmas cookies and baked goods to family bake sales, plus her neighbors. NEWARK: Age 84, of Landon Avenue, died Tuesday (September 26, 2017) at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Charlotte was born in Clyde, September 8 1933, daughter of Joseph and Jean Benson Carr. She worked at Jackson & Perkins, Sears catalog store and was a home health care aid. She was a member of St. Michaels Church, where she was involved with Martha Ministry and the bereavement committee of the church. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Thomas Damick Sr., two sons: Tom “Sam” (Donna) and Michael Paul (Elizabeth) Damick of Newark; daughter Debbie (Timothy) Goetz of Walworth; seven grandchildren: Christopher, Heather (Nate), Meghan, Rachel, Mylea, Jennifer (Steve), Madison; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Peg Percy of Florida and Beverly VanHoover of Newark; five brothers: Jack, Bob, Donald, Timothy, Charles Carr. FORMERLY WALWORTH: Age 73 of Lower Burrell, PA formerly of Walworth, NY passed away peacefully on Friday September 29, 2017. Mr. Baxter was born on February 6, 1944 to Margaret Nee and John R. “Bud” Baxter of Arnold, Pa. He was employed by Xerox in Rochester, NY for 44 years. He was a life member of the Walworth Fire Department, Walworth Ambulance Service, Inc. and the Lions International of Walworth. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church in Lower Burrell, PA. Mr. Baxter enjoyed being active with the fire department, spending time at his cottage in Conneaut, PA and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janice (Abbott) Baxter; his sister, Margaret (Dee Dee) Baxter of New Kensington; his brother, Michael F. (Cheryl) Baxter of New Kensington. He is survived by his aunt, Dorothy Nee of Arnold. John is also survived by many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Janene Marie Baxter.

LEXINGTON NC: Age 80, born in North Rose, New York, lived in Deltona, Florida, passed away in Lexington, North Carolina on Friday September 29, 2017 at Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington. Marlene was born March 13, 1937 to the late Edward Anthony Sr. and Lois Edwards Anthony in Wayne County, New York. She was a loving Mother, Sister, Nana and Friend. Marlene loved to travel, camp and exercise. She was an avid walker and enjoyed going to the gym. She was a great cook, and everyone loved to taste her good home cooked meals. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gary Ellis and one son Randall Ellis; and four brothers. Surviving is her two daughters Nikki Greenwood and husband Lonnie of Lexington, Julie Ellis Thompson of Central Florida; one brother Robert “Bob” Anthony; two sisters Margaret Fontaine, Linda Tompkins and husband Charlie; six grandchildren, Blake Ellis, Austin Greenwood, James Thompson, Jr., Tarra Campbell and husband Ben, Devon Ellis, McKenzie Harding and husband Ryan; one great-grandchild Lily Ellis. There will be no formal services held. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be sent to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way Lexington, NC 27292, with either donations or Live Plants.
