INTERLACHEN, FL: Age 86, of passed away Aug. 19, 2017 at Haven Hospice in Palatka after an extended illness. Upon returning from the Korean Conflict, he was employed 43 years at Garlock Inc. in Palmyra, N.Y. After retiring in 1993 he relocated to Interlachen, Fl He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet and two brothers, Myron and Gerald Wagner. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; three sons, Scott (Carol) of Long Island, N.Y.; Jon of Ocala; David of Palmyra; stepson, James Dykeman (Joni) of Duluth, Ga.; three grandchildren, two great-grandsons, many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will begin 1 p.m. Sept. 22 at the National Cemetery in Bushnell,Fl Rest in Peace Vincent, you will be greatly missed. Crevasse’s Simple Cremation is handling arrangements.

PALMYRA: Age 64, died August 24, 2017. Lola was a 1970 graduate of Marcus Whitman High School, and a 1974 graduate of Houghton College, with a Bachelor of Arts and Music Education. She was retired from the IT Department at the Wayne ARC in Newark in 2015. Lola enjoyed reading and computers. Active in her community, Lola was a member and Past-President of the American Legion Post #120 Auxilliary. She was also Past-President of the Wayne County ALA, 7th District ALA Auxilliary. Lola was Chairman of the Empire State Girls State for 3 years. She was also a member of the Palmyra Fire Department Auxilliary. Lola is survived by her husband of 43 years, Leslie “Bill” Marshall; two brothers, Gene (Linda) Cripps and Ralph (Doris) Cripps; sister, Mary Lou Cripps; brother-in-law, Jerry Marshall; sister-in-law, Tina (Tim) King; and several nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Gordon and Anna Marie Cripps. Friends may call Wednesday, (Aug. 30th) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. PALMYRA: Age 95, of Palmyra, passed away on August 25, 2017. Grace was born on October 29, 1921 in Candia, New Hampshire to Alfred and Elsie Brown. She was a 1943 graduate of the University of New Hampshire and was an accomplished pianist. Grace was a longtime resident of Lockport, New York and owner of the Lewis Flower Shop and later moved to Romulus, New York to work at the Seneca Army Depot until her retirement. Following retirement, she resided on her ‘farm’ in Dunellon, Florida before coming north to live with her ‘boys’ Dean and John in Palmyra. Grace was a gracious, happy lady who loved family, friends, flowers and animals. Grace was predeceased by her parents; and her spouses Francis S. George and Phillip E. Burch. She is survived by her four children: Louise (Gary) Wohlafka of Bloomington, Indiana, Charles George of New Port Richey, Florida, Bryan (Denise) George of New Port Richey, Florida, and Dean (John) George of Palmyra, New York; brother Alfred (Karen) Brown Jr. of Northwood, New Hampshire and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank her home care companion Linda Pettingill and the caring staff of the House of John in Clifton Springs for their kind and compassionate care during her final days. LYONS: Age 65, of Arcadia Zurich Norris Road, passed away on Tuesday, August 22,2017 at Clifton Springs Hospital. Art was born on August 6,1952 in Batavia, NY, a son to the late William and Alberta Hottois Darling. He worked in Macedon for 39 years as a shipping/receiving clerk in the same building as it transitioned from Mobil, to Huntsman Packaging to Pliant and finally to Berry Plastics. He enjoyed working on his home and refinishing furniture. Any spare time he had he spent with his cherished grandchildren, or taking long rides on his motorcycle. Predeceased by his brother, Richard “Dick” Darling and his sisters, Becky Cruz and Alberta “Kitty” Beach He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Susan “Sue” Feiock Darling; son, Michael Darling of Newark, and daughter, Amber (Jason) DeMay of Palmyra; sisters, Ginger Gilbert of Florida and Kellie (Phil) Miller of Marion; brother-in-law, Jose Cruz of Sodus; beloved grandchildren, Jacob Darling, Emily LoTempio, Christian Downey, Anabel Darling, Evelyn LoTempio, Hunter Darling, Madelyn DeMay and Joseph DeMay.

CLYDE: Age 71, passed away on Tuesday, August 22,2017 at Rochester General Hospital surrounded by her family. Marianne was born on October 19,1945 in Rochester, NY, the daughter of the late Leo and Ruby (Farrington) Lafontaine. She recently retired from the Wayne County Department of Social Services. Previously she was employed as a substitute teacher for the Lyons School district as well as the Migrant Tutorial Program. She served on the Board of Directors for the Humane Society of Wayne County and was a long standing choir member at St. John’s. Service to the community was very important to her. She also was an avid animal lover and gardener. Predeceased by her Husband, Frank in 2007. She is survived by her son, Mark of Seneca Falls; her brother, Thomas (Carol) Lafontaine of Sodus; niece, Rachel Lafontaine of Sodus.
There will be no prior calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 114 Sodus St., Clyde. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Clyde, NY. Friends are invited to a reception after Mass at the Parish Center.

NEWARK/CANANDAIGUA: Mary L. Schulmerich, 59, died Friday (August 25, 2017) at Rochester General Hospital. Mary was born on September 7, 1957 in Canandaigua, the daugher of William and Elvira Pastore McDermott. She graduated from the Canandaigua Academy in 1957 and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. For over 25 years, Mary was a dedicated supervisor in group homes for the Finger Lakes DDSO. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Bernard, two children Brian of Phelps and Shannon (Adam Conley) Schulmerich of Palmyra; a grandson Brandon Schulmerich of Palmyra; her mother Elvira “Elly” McDermott of Canandaigua; four sisters, Debbie (Bob) McCauley of Webster, Sister Pat McDermott of Gates, June (Rich) McDermott of Greece and Annie (Vince) Medici of Latham, New York; several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her father William; son Bernie Schulmerich, Jr., and a brother Michael McDermott.

NEWARK: Age 88, died Sunday (August 27, 2017) at the home of her granddaughter in Sodus. Rose was born on July 21, 1929 in Newark, the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Pizzirusso Ruffalo. She was a member of St. Michael Church and a graduate of Newark High School. Soon after high school, Rose started a dress shop. She later partnered with her husband in the real estate business, Farrell Reality in Newark. Rose loved her Lincolns, doggies, long car rides and spending time with family. She is survived by her children Dawn Farrell of Newark, Carey (Kathleen) Farrell of Palmyra and Jeffrey Farrell of Deltona, FL.; nine gramdchildren, Calaisha (Steve), Colleen (Evan), Crystal (Adam), Nynna (Michael), William (Lex) Andrea, Jad, Taylor and Colin; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Wallace in 2000, her son Wallace M. in 1960 and granddaughter Meredith Walzer in 2012. Mrs. Lyon was born the daughter of the late Clarence and Edna (Garey) Pruner on Saturday, November 9, 1918 in Phelps, NY. She was a graduate of Phelps High School class of 1939. Mrs. Lyon was a long-time member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Newark, NY and had worked at J.C. Penny’s in Newark for over 50 years. Mrs. Lyon will be remembered by her daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Bernard Austin Jr. of Keeseville, NY; granddaughter Stephanie (Douglas) McCall of Auburn, NY; great grandchildren Vienna and Ellone; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lyon was predeceased by her husband Harold K. Lyon in 2004; sister Gladys Davidson and brother Kenneth Pruner. She spent her life in the Newark area, graduating from Newark High School class of 1942. She was a member of the Woodlane Community Church and past member of the Sodus Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Hoot enjoyed bowling, camping, crocheting, playing cards and people.
