PALMYRA: Sue passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at age 80. She was born on January 6, 1937 in Ontario, NY to the late Van and Dorothy Risley. Sue is survived by her children, Mark (Nancy) Herold and Tammy (Frank) Lana; grandchildren, Janice, Andrew, Renee, Mary, David, Katie and Nick; 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; several nieces and nephews. Sue was a registered nurse for Genesee Hospital, an elementary school nurse, worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield and was a teacher’s aide for children with special needs. She loved all animals, especially her cat, Layla. Sue enjoyed reading books, mainly biographies. Per Sue’s wishes all services will be private. WILLIAMSON/SODUS: Age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2017 with her children by her side. Grace was born the daughter of Arthur and Hazel Lonneville of Palmyra on February 21, 1934. Grace was predeceased by her husband, Les Tingue of 45 years in 1993, her son Danny in 1999, her son Kenny (at birth) in 1950 and her siblings; brothers David Lonneville, Harold (Betty) Lonneville, Leon (Violet) Lonneville, Julius(Ruth) Lonneville and David Lonneville, sisters; Marge (Robert) Wood, Elvira (Mike) Mottler and Marian (Bud) Peets She is survived by her sons; Dale Sr. (Patty) Tingue of Wolcott, Terry Sr. (Laura) Tingue of Sodus, her daughters; Lynda (Sonny) Briot of Williamson, Joyce (Ken) of Ontario and Judy (Alan) of Sodus, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Grace married Les Tingue and raised 6 children on Joy Road in Sodus where they made their home. After their children were in school, Grace worked at Warners, Pine Cleaners, General Dynamics and then on to Xerox where she worked 22 years and retired in 1992. Grace enjoyed crocheting, word search games and working in her flower gardens. She especially loved spending time with her family. Friends may call on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Norton Funeral Home, 45 West Main St., Sodus, NY and Wednesday, September 6 from 1-2 pm where the funeral service will be held at 2 pm. MARION: October 8, 1944 – August 31, 2017 Kathy passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She loved her life and was loved by all. Kathy will be greatly missed but forever remembered. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dennis Weeks; daughters, Lisa, Mindy, Tammy (Jeff) Bove; grandchildren, Terri & Brittani Bove; Claude Hall IV; great granddaughter, Annie, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. Mori, Ernest “Ernie” Samuel

NEWARK: Ernest “Ernie” Samuel Mori, 71, entered eternal rest peacefully Thursday, August 31, 2017 surrounded by family and friends at Canandaigua VA Hospital. Ernie was born the son of the late Werner and Dellie (Madison) Mori on Tuesday, September 18, 1945 in Hammondsport, NY. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Army and served in the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1968 in the United States Army, and then the Army National Guard. He returned home and graduated with degrees in accounting from Alfred State and Rochester Institute of Technology. He owned and operated his private accounting practice in Newark for over 30 years. During this time, he was active in many civic and volunteer organizations including Kiwanis, Lions Club, Boy Scouts, VFW Post 2883, Marbletown and Fairville Volunteer Fire Department and Zion Episcopal Church. He was elected to the Newark School Board from 1992 to 1998 and served as the Controller for the Village of Newark from 1994 to 1997. Ernie was also an avid hunter and outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Ernie will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife Nancy (Smolos) Mori of Newark; daughter Michelle (Hugh) Woodside of Penfield, son Donald (Darby) of Franklin, TN and daughter Kathryn (Nicholas) Heidinger of Buffalo; grandchildren Nevin and Griffin Woodside, Samuel and Josephine Mori and Benjamin Heidinger; siblings Robert (Sylvia) of Bath, Margaret (William) Scheidweiler of Painted Post, Anne (Bruce) Erway of Honeoye Falls, Albert (Bonnie) of Dale City, VA and Mary Ruth Schoonover of Campbell; many loving nieces and nephews. Ernie was predeceased by his sister Louise (Hunn) and his brother Tyrell. The funeral home proudly flies the Army flag in honor of his service. A celebration of Ernie’s life will be held at Zion Episcopal Church, 120 East Main St. Palmyra NY (NOTE DATE & TIME) on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 9 a.m. A reception will follow immediately afterwards in the fellowship hall. EAST PALMYRA: Died on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at the age of 58. Beth was born on July 5, 1959 in Marion, New York the daughter of Robert and Mary Hounshell Hollenbeck. She had been employed at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rochester and Benefit Resources, Inc. of Rochester as a Benefits Coordinator. Beth loved watching and caring for her backyard birds and was especially fond of her dogs. Beth is predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband Gary; daughters Michelle Frey, Michele Castro and Jennifer Faniel; sons Michael Frey, Matthew Frey and Cory Tabacco; sister Wanda (Levi) Russell and Brenda (John) Woicehovich; brother Earl (Linda) Roberts; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

PALMYRA: Died on September 4, 2017 at age 74. Dianne was born on July 7, 1943 in Rochester, NY to the late Nolan and Betty Smith. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, John Stalker; children, John Stalker, Jr., Dyan Stalker, Chad (Stephanie) and Mike (Tracey) Stalker; grandchildren, Collin, Angelina and Masson; and many other family members. Dianne always put her family and friends first. She will be missed mostly by how caring and loving she was, along with her beautiful smile that was always on her face. She was very sociable and never missed a family gathering. She loved animals, attending concerts and truly enjoyed square dancing with her husband, John. She looked forward to attending her weekly ceramics classes with friends Dianne also had a love for photographs; anywhere she went there would be a camera close by to capture every moment. Dianne was a member of Cross Creek Church for many years.

LYONS: Lori passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on September 3, 2017 at age 58. She was born March 12, 1959 to R. Dean Kuhlman and Yvonne L. (Miller) Kuhlman of Lyons, NY. Lori lived with her husband, David P. Horton at her childhood home on Lembke Road, Lyons. She is predeceased by both parents and two sisters, Debra J. Kuhlman-Baker and Carol D. Kuhlman. She is survived by her husband, David; sister, Kimberly S. Kuhlman-McNeilly (Dale) of Savannah, NY and brother, Thomas G. Kuhlman (Barbara) of Newark, NY; nephews, Dean Desain (Amanda), Michael Desain, Sgt. Jason Allen (Kelley), Major Klint Kuhlman (Lindsey), Thor Baker, Cree Baker, Heath Baker, and many close friends. Lori graduated from Lyons Central School in 1977 and CCFU in 1979 with an Associates Degree as a Legal Secretary. She was employed at Foley & Foley in Palmyra for over 30 years and was currently employed as a Office Assistant at the Department of Correctional Services, Willard Campus, and as a Customer Associate at Varick Winery. Lori enjoyed her two black labs, Dallas and Dino; horse, Sable and many cats. Lori enjoyed working in her flower gardens, going to craft and antique shows. She also enjoyed working beside her husband with his landscaping business.

MARION: Age 46 entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 in her home with her family by her side. Ruth was born the daughter of Sherman W and Sarah (Putt) Boudrieau on Friday, April 23, 1971 in Canandaigua, NY. She spent her life in the Marion area, graduating from Clyde High School class of 1984. She attended Wayne ARC for many years. Ruth enjoyed music, dancing, video games and movies. She loved to participate in arts and crafts, and truly enjoyed a cookie now and then. Ruth will be remembered by her father, Sherman W Boudrieau; sisters Mary (Bob) Pundt, Elizabeth (Terry) Smith, Carol Baker and Cheryl (Rudi) White; brothers Sherman H (Paul) Heberle, George Boudrieau (Linda Smithover) and James Attwell; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; many friends. NEWARK: Sharon Lee Peek, 68 went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 4, 2017, at Strong Memorial Hospital. Sharon was born the daughter of the late Francis and Ruth (Thomas) Leddick on Saturday, June 11, 1949 in Newark, NY. For many years Sharon lived in Fountain Inn, South Carolina where she worked in the Environmental Department for the Fountain Inn City School District. She returned to Newark a few years ago to be near family. Sharon enjoyed cooking, baking, making wedding cakes, planning and holding family events and camping. She loved spending time with family and grandchildren. Sharon had a large collection of salt and pepper shakers. Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Charlie Ann Camp (Scott Bridger); step son, Scottie (Eryn) Peek; grandchildren, Oakley Bridger, Hayden Bridger, Breanna Ruffing, Hunter Peek, Ryen Peek, Harper Peek and Nicole Johnson; two great grandchildren and one due in December; brothers, Francis (Catherine) Leddick and Robert (Donna) Leddick; sisters, Martha VanNorman, Alberta (James) Barra and June (Michael) Ridosh; many nieces and nephews. Carol was born the daughter of Robert and Mary Jane (Roberts) Young on Wednesday, July 23, 1958 in Rochester, NY. She spent her life in the Newark area, graduating from Newark High School class of 1975. Carol worked for Newark Wayne Community Hospital for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Newark where she was involved with many actives including the Rebecca Ruth Circle and making prayer shawls. Carol enjoyed camping, canning, crafts and animals, especially her dog “Pudgie”. LYONS/SOUTH SODUS: Pearl (Wenner) Avery peacefully returned to the arms of the Lord in Newark-Wayne Community Hospital on September 1, 2017 surrounded by loving family. Pearl was born to the late Gail and Cora (Swarts) Wenner on February 25, 1920 in Sparta, NY, and attended school in Dansville. She married Francis Avery on November 10, 1939 in Cohocton, and was blessed with a large and loving family. She was predeceased by husband Francis, brothers Peter (Theresa) and Charles (Lucille) Wenner, and sister Caroline (Ronnie) Paddock, as well as grandchild Benjamin Page. She is survived by son Dewayne Avery, daughters Dawne (William) Sampson, Faye (Richard) Gilmore, and Terry (Kevin) Hagan; grandchildren Lynn Jackson, Sharon (Raymond Otero) Sampson-Otero, Lica Gilmore, Susan Sampson, Scott Avery, Rachael Mead, and Sara Maurice; great-grandchildren Tyler Twombly, Joshua Page, Patrick (Amanda Balch) Robertson, Katelyn (Jeffery) Allen, Jordan Avery, Haley Maurice, Ireland Avery, Avery Maurice, Raymond Otero, Jr., Myra Dean, Evan Sampson, and Lucas Maurice; and great-great-grandchildren Patrick Robertson, Jr., Alea Allen, and Lola Currier. Pearl was a devoted and longtime member of Maranatha Baptist Church of Lyons, deriving conviction and comfort from her careful study and practice of God’s word. She enjoyed reading and gardening, and created beautiful crocheted and knitted pieces, often sharing them with others. She loved animals, especially her many faithful companion dogs and cats over the years. He is predeceased by the love of his life, wife Rose Marie; son Joseph, Jr.; parents John and Anna (Alongi) Gallo; brothers Salvatore (Rosemary) and John, Jr.; father-in-law and mother-in-law Michael and Isabelle (Giuliano) Lomedico; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Sam and Maggie DiPaolo, Joseph and Ursula Murano, Nick and Josephine Murgillo and Joseph Lomedico. Joe survived by his son John (Susie) and daughter AnnMarie (Alan Walker); grandchildren Kimberly (Shane) Allen, Joseph Gallo, Michael (Emily) Curtis and Jordan Curtis; great-granddaughters Graciana and Gloria Allen; sister-in-laws Joyce Gallo, Antoinette (Raymond) Parrotta and Carol Lomedico; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Born on January 18, 1932, Joe was an army veteran and served two years in the Korean War. In 1954, Joe and Rose Marie began building their business in Wolcott—Gallo’s Quality Discount Store and later other locations in Albion, Clyde, Oswego and Williamson. In 1970, they opened Buckminster’s Department Store in Wolcott. Joe was a member of the Wolcott Fire Department; past-president of the Wolcott Lions Club; past-treasurer of the Wolcott Elks Lodge #1763; past-chairman of the Town of Wolcott Planning Board; past-president of the Wolcott Chamber of Commerce; past-president of the Port Bay Improvement Association for over 25 years; life member of Wolcott VFW and Flower City post of the American Legion #180; vice-chairman of the Wayne County Republican Committee. Joe was Wayne County Director for OTB for 32 years, serving as vice-chairman of the Board of Directors, chairman of the Board of Directors and chairman of the Finance Committee. In 1992, Joe received the Rotary Distinguished Services Award for “Service Above Self to the Community”. Joe was awarded in 2005, Sullivan Policy Institute’s Madison Award in recognition for his devotion to honoring the principles of the Constitution of the USA.

SAVANNAH: Age 51 of Mays Point Savannah NY left this life here on earth unexpectedly on September 9th, 2017.
Terry is a life long resident of Savannah NY and attended Clyde Savannah Central School. He worked at Parker Hannifin in Lyons NY for many years. Terry was predeceased by his father Terry L. Dutcher Sr. and one son Adrian Hines. He is survived by two sons, Noah Dutcher and Dillion Dutcher of Clyde N.Y. , 3 grandchildren, Jacob, Marley, Lillian. His mother Brenda Lee (Wilson) Dutcher of Mays Point, and sisters, Debra (Scott) Van Duyne of Canandaigua N.Y. Dawn (Jon) Caves of Savannah N.Y. , LeeAnne (Micheal) Teuful Of Seneca Falls N.Y. Brothers, Donald (Michelle) Dutcher of Savannah NY, Daniel (Sharon) Dutcher of Geneva N.Y. and several several nieces and nephews and his dog Lucy. Terry Lee loved his family very much and loved doing family things. Terry touched the lives of anyone that knew him. And he was loved by many, including the staff and residence at the Homestead in PennYan N.Y. Terry had a love for fishing, animals and collecting matchbox cars and light houses. Terry loved life and loved his life at Mays Point. There will be no calling hours per Terry’s request. However, there will be a celebration of Terry’s life on Saturday, September 16th, 2017 from 3-7 pm at his moms home at ( Dutcherville) Mays Point, Savannah N.Y. All family and Friends are welcome. We will be having a balloon launch this day in honor of Terry Lee. Wiant Bliss Leighton

MARION: Oct. 31, 1927 – Sept. 2, 2017. Bliss “Leighton” Wiant was born in October of 1927 in Beijing (Peking) China, to Methodist missionary parents and professors, Rev. Dr. Bliss M. and Mildred A. Wiant (faculty at Yenching/Beijing University). Leighton was named after his then-Godfather, the U.S. Ambassador to China, John Leighton Stuart. Leighton was the second of four siblings, all of whom survive him: Allen, Cecilia, and Ben. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Dean Wiant, a native of Marion, NY, now residing at Asbury Methodist Village in Gaithersburg, MD, where they moved two years ago. Leighton is also survived by three children, Rebecca McGinnis (nie Wiant), Daniel Wiant, Matthew Wiant, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Leighton was educated at Yenching University (two undergrad yrs), Ohio State University (two yrs Agriculture), Ohio Wesleyan (BS Agriculture), and Cornell University (MS Rural Sociology). He participated in a non-combat role in WWII with the Brethren Service Unit in Shanghai, China. After completing his academic studies, Leighton served roles in teaching and mission work in the Philippines as a teacher/high school principal; in Sarawak, Malaysia, developing the local economy in a rural village for 14 years; as a lecturer about missions work across the U.S. for two years; and in Marion, NY, operating the Deanvale Farm for 17 years before retirement. Leighton was active in community outreach in Wayne County, NY, an active member of the United Church in Marion, and a participant in countless programs to supply food and support to the needy. He is remembered for his love of family, love of music, dynamic Christian faith, and kindness and support for all. LYONS: Age 88, a resident of the Wayne County Nursing Home, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Sunday, September 10, 2017. Bev was born September 6, 1929, in Lyons, a daughter to the late Calver and Lila Miner Holdridge. In her working years she was employed by the former Sarah Coventry in Newark and later at WilPrint in Lyons. Predeceased by her husband, Dening. Bev is survived by her son, Neil Washburn and dear friend, Laurie Holtz of Lyons; daughter, Lynn (Robert) Eason of Webster; 2 grandsons, Paul Washburn of Wyoming and Nicholas (Alena) Washburn of Washington state; and great-grandson Masinh Ho.
Family and friends may call Thursday (Sept. 14) from 10 am until noon, at Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., Lyons, followed by a funeral service at noon. Burial will be in South Lyons Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lyons Public Library, Lyons United Methodist Church or to the Town of Lyons Ambulance in her memory. keysorfuneralhomes.com

LYONS: Passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Wayne County Nursing Home. Louise was born September 13, 1917 in Geneva, NY and moved to Manhattan, NY in the early 1940’s where she worked as a secretary for Kemper Insurance Company. Louise never missed an opportunity to dance at the Roseland Ball Room in Manhattan. Louise will be remembered by her nephews, Gene (Joan) Kelley and Robert (Kimberly) Kelley with whom she spent her final years as well as many nieces and nephews of four generations and special friends from New York City. Louise was predeceased by her parents, Benjamino and Carmella DeSio, 9 brothers, Neil, Isadore, Francis, Freddie, Richard, Vincent, Marco, Bennie, Alfred and two sisters, Marguerite and Elivida. A private graveside service will be held at South Lyons Cemetery in Lyons on Friday, September 15th.
