CLYDE: Shirley June Watrous, 73 entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital – ER. Shirley was born the daughter of the late Gordon and June (Botsford) Skofstad on Saturday, October 28, 1944 in Waukegan, IL. She graduated from high school and then received her degree in nursing. Shirley worked at Wayne Medical Group in Newark for several years. She was a member of the Clyde Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Lyons Silver Sneakers Club. Traveling with her late husband was always a fun time for Shirley. However, spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren, was the most delightful and loving time she spent. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis (Vicky) of Newark, David (Janice) of Whitesboro and Daniel (Jennifer) Watrous of Central Square; grandchildren, Nathan (Emily), Amberlynn, Landon, David, Allyson, Ryan and Andrew; several nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Dale Watrous on Jan. 22, 2014 and sister, Ursula Presley. All services will be private. Burial will take place in McGrawville Rural Cemetery, McGraw, NY. NEWARK: Entered into eternal rest, on August 28, 2018 at age 59. Predeceased by brother: Charles Andrew. Karen was born the daughter of the late Leland and Mabel (Mollenkopf) Pembroke on Friday, September 12, 1958 in Newark, NY.  She spent 23 years working for the Breen family through ownership of Bell’s IGA and Save A Lot, spending several years as front end manager.  She loved all the friends and “adopted” children she made during her time at the store.  She enjoyed gardening, the beach and her cats. Karen will be remembered by her longtime partner, Charles Brown, daughter Stacey (Elizabeth Neal) Brooks, brother: Donald Andrew; sister: Sandra Francis; nieces: Melanie (Aaron) Rowe; Marlene (Craig Perkins) Francis; nephew: Guy (Missy) Andrew. ROCHESTER: Died on Sun., Aug. 26, 2018 at the age of 80. Alvah John Walker was born on March 7, 1938 in Canandaigua, NY the son of Alvah and Ruth Inkley Walker. He was a 1956 graduate of Marion High School. Following graduation from the Eastman School of Music, Dr. Walker taught music in Spencerport. From there he moved to Charlestown, MD where he taught at Washington College. John came back to the Rochester area and Finger Lakes Community Collegewhere he helped develop the music department and taught from 1973 to 2002. John is survived by his sister Janet (Gene) Walker Hermenet; brother D. Gordon (Jacqueline) Walker and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A graveside service will be held at 5pm on Wed., Sept. 5 at the Palmyra Cemetery (Please meet at the main gate, 272 Vienna St.). LYONS: Age 97, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018. She was born April 26, 1921 to parents Harry and Fanny Lazier in Alloway, a hamlet in Lyons, New York. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter J. Engels and her nine siblings. She is survived by her children John (Peggy) of Sheridan, Wyoming, Sally Martin (Robert) of Victor, NY, and Brian (Sheila) of Lyons, NY; grandchildren Renee Clay (Daniel), Adam (Heather) and Melissa Levo (Brian); great grandchildren Kellen and Drake Clay. Amelia was a life-long member of the Lyons Presbyterian Church serving as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, elder and usher over many years.  She was recognized as the 2001 Woman of Faith by the Geneva Presbytery. Amelia also was a life-long resident of Alloway.  She has resided at Wayne County Nursing Home for the last eight months. As a child she attended the Alloway District #10 School until its closure, then attended and graduated from the Lyons Union School. She married Walter in 1941. She was his devoted work partner in all his endeavors. She joined him in running the Alloway Red and White Store. She and Walter’s sister Marion ran the store while Walt and his brother were in the service during WWII. After the store was sold in 1955, she helped him with his radio and television business.  In the 1960’s and 70’s they again purchased and ran the Alloway store together. After Walter’s retirement, Amelia worked at the Newark Developmental Center until she retired in 1980s. Amelia was known for her sense of humor and looking for ways to help others. She had great pride in being a resident of the small community of Alloway and maintained the tradition of holding an annual Alloway picnic. She will be remembered as the unofficial “Mayor of Alloway”. A memorial service will be held at a future date at the family’s convenience. ROSE: Held hands with god as he called her home August 1, 2018. She blessed this earth on May 10 1958 in North Rose NY. She was beautiful mother, friend, sister, aunt and wife. She was predeceased by her Mother Marjorie Disanto and her Father Lionel Richard Betts, Brother David Betts and her first husband William McKinney. She left to honor her memory her husband Stanley Harris, three beautiful daughters Nicole Harris, Amy McKinney, and Holly Brothers. Brothers Gary (Susan) Betts of Canastota, Dennis (Maryanne) Betts of Clyde, Charles Betts of Rose. Sisters Dawn (Robert) Hetzke of Clyde and baby sister Kathryn Betts of Newark. Nephews are Jason, Todd, Joshua and Justin and niece Crystal and beloved grandkids, Jordyn, lsaiah, Jameson, McKenzie, Tyeryn, Dimitri, Alexis, DJ., Bella along with a number of great grandkids. She also has numerous friends and associates she leaves behind to honor her name. Funeral service  will be held at the Rose Methodist United Church On September 8th in Rose NY at 12 pm. ONTARIO: After a brief illness, Ronald passed away on August 29, 2018 at age 66.  He was born on July 1, 1952 in Walworth, NY to the late Milard and Mildred Sharrow. Ronald was also predeceased by his son, Daniel Sharrow.  Survived by his wife, Jean Sharrow; children, Michael (Stephanie) Sharrow, Dawn Sharrow, Brett Klem and Jill Klem; grandchildren, Emma and Destiny Sharrow; sisters, Rebecca Mancini and Connie Lake; several nieces, nephews and other family. Ronald retired from Xerox after 25 years. He loved camping, woodworking and working in his shop. Art proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.  He was the founder of the Sodus Center Christian School.  He was a longtime pastor for the Faith Fellowship Church and had a love to minister to people in the community. LOUISBURG: Richard Alan Tompkins, 72, of Louisburg, died Sunday morning at his home. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, William and Jean P. Tompkins. Richard was born in Sodus, NY. He was a Navy Veteran where he served in Vietnam. He was a retired Correctional Officer with the NC Department of Corrections. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion Post 105. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Deborah A. MARION: Milton Davis passed away on September 2, 2018, surrounded by his family at the age of 75. Milton Engley Davis, known as Davey to his family, was born on August 4, 1943 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Milton Davis and Martha (nee Grinnell) Davis. Milton was also predeceased by his sister Margery Diamond. Milton graduated from Cheltenham High School in 1962. Milton served as a Marine for 4 years. He worked as a trainer at Xerox for many years. He married Deborah Soucy in 1983. They had two children, Matthew Milton Davis and Kimberly Jean (nee Davis) Nortier. Milton was a loving father and grandfather. He is remembered as someone who loved life. He was a wonderful role model to his children who he taught his knowledge of fishing and love of nature to. He loved tending to his yard and garden. He also enjoyed his daily walks with his dog yogi. Many memories were shared every summer among four generations at the Davis Family Cottage in Bayside, Maine. Milton gave the “gift of life” as a donor to our local bone and tissue bank so that others in need may benefit and be able to continue to live a more healthy, comfortable life. Milton is survived by his son Matthew Davis, daughter Kimberly Nortier, their respective spouses Allison Domzalski and Matthew Nortier; his sisters, Sandra Mathers and Elizabeth  Tutein;  grandchildren Leonard Matthew Nortier and Allie Jean Nortier, and his beloved dog Yogi. 

Friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of Milton Davis on Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 1040 Route State Route 31, Macedon, NY 14502.
